JB & Em's

Feb 2015

Arrangements have been made!

We did it! Well, almost. The planning is in the final stages and we still have some Champagne left in the fridge. That's a win in our book. We can't wait to have you all present as we get hitched.

Read on for all the details of the day including such key facts as locations, times, and which toaster we'd really like in our kitchen.

Everything you need to know

We've prepared a non-comprehensive list of things we think aren't cool: driving drunk, driving tired, and leaving the wedding early depriving us of your fine company. If you're travelling in from out of town we highly recommend getting some local accomodation for the night. There are a few blocks of motels and serviced apartments around Brunswick, Parkville, and Carlton that would do the job. Get in touch with us if you need suggestions, or consult your nearest google compatible gadget.

We're having a party to get all our favourite people in the one place to celebrate us, not for the new toaster (but a little bit for the new toaster - JB). Many of you are coming from far and wide and your presence is present enough. For those that would like to buy us a gift, there's not much we really need. If you're overwhelmed with joy, traditionalism, or guilt we've put a registry together here. Contributions to the honeymoon would be most appreciated - a rest from all the wedding planning would do us a world of good.

If there's anything you're not sure about, please check in with Andrea or Jo - they're JB & Em experts.

The nuptials will be held at 4pm at the City of Brunswick Scout Hall located at 213A Weston Street, Brunswick East, 3057. It's the green dot on the map below. Please arrive around 3.45pm. The ceremony itself will be fairly short and there will be the requisite photos with us afterward.

There's some street parking near the hall and a paid garage halfway down the road.

In Between

While the bridal party do the usual photo-shoot you'll have time to kill and some ground to cover before the reception. It's a 1.3km jaunt straight up Lygon st, a journey we highly recommend breaking up with a visit (or two) to some of the very fine drinking establishments in the area. Some of our favourites are marked on the map below in orange, but you're hard pressed to go wrong around here.

You can also take a 1 or 8 tram up Lygon st, but make sure you've a MYKI on hand.

party time

Please arrive at East Elevation at 6.30pm. The reception will be a stand up, cocktail style soiree so please make the appropriate footwear arrangements. There is free parking on Lygon Street and on the surrounding back streets.

There will be plenty to eat and drink, some speeches made, and a pretty wild dance floor. Ladies, again, think of your feet!

The After-After Party

The honeymoon kicks off at the Golden Plains music festival the weekend after the wedding. Tickets are a bit tricky to find as the event has sold out, but it's worth registering yourself on the waiting list or have a poke around Gumtree closer to the event.

To make sure we have the most possible fun we're going to convoy into the festival together and set up a mega campsite. To get on board join the facebook event for the convoy here.
